Lee joined the Comedy Department of London Weekend Television in 1998 before moving on to Entertainment where he would spend the next 18 years. Early on, Lee produced many of ITV’s flagship entertainment programmes including multiple Michael Barrymore and Cilla Black series and specials before being part of the team behind the original series of Saturday Night Takeaway with Ant and Dec.
As an award-winning Executive Producer and Creative Director, Lee became synonymous with large scale, shiny floor and event programming across music, comedy and entertainment.
In his 10 years as Creative Director for ITV Studios, Lee oversaw a programme slate in excess of £160 million and won Awards including the BAFTA Best Live Event with Spun Gold for The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration and BAFTA Entertainment Craft Team Award for The Sound Of Music Live.
Lee has developed and delivered over 50 music and event specials working with artists such as Neil Diamond, Bette Midler, Michael Bublé, Take That, Robbie Williams, Kylie, Justin Bieber and many more. He has also been Executive Producer for the Royal Variety Performance from 2009 to 2018, with hosts Peter Kay, Michael McIntyre, John Bishop, David Walliams, Jack Whitehall, Miranda Hart and Greg Davies. Lee successfully brought back Sunday Night at the London Palladium to ITV as well as Surprise Surprise, both of which ran for four series. Lee has overseen, for ITV, The Jonathon Ross Show since 2011, and continues to do so.
Having created and delivered many brand new series across various broadcasters as well as a huge number of event specials, Lee left ITV Studios at the end of 2018 to set up Penny Lane Entertainment.
