| Simon
started his career in media finance at specialist media
accountancy firm, Nyman Libson and Paul. From there he became
Financial Controller at the independent record label and
music publisher, GO! Discs.
In 1993 Simon moved into
TV production becoming Company Accountant at Hewland International
and a year later joining Hat Trick Productions to work as
Production Accountant on “Have I Got News For You”.
In 1995 he joined the Entertainment Department at London
Weekend Television where he worked on many of the biggest
entertainment shows of the era.
Before joining Spun
Gold TV, Simon was Controller of Production Finance
at London Weekend Television, overseeing a production budget
in excess of £80m and covering all programming genres
from Drama (“London’s Burning”), the Arts
(“The South Bank Show”), Entertainment &
Comedy (“Blind Date”), and Factual (“Airline”).
Simon’s time at
both large and small companies, gives him a unique insight
into the challenges and advantages that face the burgeoning
independent production sector.
