Royal Recipes is a fifteen part series presented by Michael Buerk which celebrates Royal food served from the time of George IV to the reign of our present Queen. Joining Michael at one of Britain’s finest stately homes are top chefs Paul Ainsworth and Anna Haugh. In the historic kitchens the chefs cook food served at events such as Coronations, Royal weddings and Royal birthdays. Many of the recipes come from a precious notebook kept by a kitchen maid who worked in Buckingham Palace in the early 1900’s, these recipes have lain hidden in the Royal Archive for over a hundred years. Food historians delve into how the Royal family have influenced us and set trends in everything from wedding cakes, to curries and picnics.
